After having another nightmare, Alex is awoken by Megan who presents him with Toulon's diary and explains that Neil has found Toulon's secret to the process of reanimating. Alex then realizes that Neil has discovered the key to being able to reanimate Toulon. Following Alex and her fellows spot Neil after he has left, they run downstairs to escape, only to see Dana, Frank, and Carissa dead in the dining area, including the recently revived Neil being seated among them. Video versions of Puppet Master was released by Paramount Home Video on October 12th 1989. The motion film was first released for sale on Disc with Full Moon Home Video on June 13, 2000.

Even though I believe that I think Charles Band (the film's director) and Ken Hall (the film's writer) are two amazing individuals, I was extremely dismayed by the fact that the movie was not even close to being as good as I had remembered it to be. The primary reason is that the characters do not get enough screen time on the show. Should I be resentful toward director David Schmoeller, whose previous film, "Crawlspace," was far superior to this?
Some , like Jester seems to serve any purpose even in the movie and others, like Blade, need more time behind the lens. I found Leech Woman to be both charming and quite disgusting, although I'll admit that I am interested in how often she's useful. Although I found and both "Tunneler" in addition to "Pinhead" both interesting it is hard not (click now to view the videos) to think there should have been a lot more of them on screen. It was unnecessary to focus on the individuals. There's a steamy romance scene to be sure however it does not necessarily contribute to character growth.
